A Douglas man has admitted possession of heroin.
Paul Clint Shields, of Close Kennish, aged 41, will be sentenced on October 2 after a probation report has been completed.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the court how, on August 20, police executed a search warrant at Shields’ home.
A wrap containing 0.3 grams of the drug was found in a bedside table, said to be worth £30.
Four children were in the house, aged between nine months and 10 years at the time.
The court heard that Shields is still on licence after he was released from a 10-year sentence imposed in 2011.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes accepted jurisdiction but ordered that the report should be prepared before sentencing.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions that Shields reside at his home address, contact probation services, and not leave the island without court permission.
