Cieran Adam Egan, of Strang Close, was restrained by police after a row with bouncers outside the Courthouse bar, in Athol Street.
The 21-year-old appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes for sentencing on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court that police on patrol were called to assist at the Courthouse on October 20 at 12.50am.
Struggle
Two officers were talking to a man while another man was in the rear of a police car.
As this was taking place Egan was said to have charged out of the Courthouse shouting. He tried to get at the police vehicle but was held back by members of the public.
Egan continued to struggle and was then restrained against a wall by police.
He was said to be smelling of alcohol and slurring his words and was arrested.
Defence advocate Stephen Wood said: ’Mr Egan was in the premises and became aware of matters occurring outside.
’It is a regrettable incident.
’He should have just calmed down but there was no swearing or lashing out at officers.’
He was ordered to pay £125 costs.
