A Douglas man has been fined £300 after swearing at police from his window.

Anthony Robert Collis, aged 21, of Osborne Grove, admitted using threatening or abusive behaviour or words.

Prosecutor James Robinson told the court how, on February 10 police went to Collis’ address making enquiries about a different matter.

Collis was said to be aggressive and swearing.

Defence advocate David Reynolds said his client had a ’great mistrust of the police’, adding: ’Mr Collis informs me the police tried to push their way in and he was unhappy.

’He didn’t feel they had permission to go in.’
