A man who said he would ’fight the whole of Ramsey’ has been fined £400 for being drunk and disorderly.
Jamie Grahame Barrow, of Brookhill Road, Ramsey, claimed that he had been bullied by people in the town.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that police were called on January 11 after reports from two different pubs that Barrow, who is 35, had been aggressive towards staff.
The pubs did not wish to press charges but were keen for Barrow to be warned, she said.
Police found Barrow in Parliament Street, where he was said to be shouting abuse at members of the public and throwing his arms around.
He was spoken to by police and was said to be distressed.
He told police he believed he was being bullied by numerous people in Ramsey.
Barrow then began shouting and swearing, and saying: ’I will fight this whole town.
’There is a conspiracy with all these pubs.’
The court heard that Barrow has no convictions since 2016.
Defence advocate Paul Glover asked for credit to be given for his client’s guilty plea.
’He would say he was emotional and upset about comments made,’ said the advocate.
’He accepts that his behaviour was drunk and disorderly.’
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told Barrow: ’I accept you were in a heightened state of emotion but undoubtedly intoxication would have increased your upset.
’It was the alcohol speaking rather than anything else.’
Barrow was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £125.
He will pay the fine and costs at a rate of £10 per week deducted from benefits.
