A man has admitted receiving £2,520-worth of cannabis in the post.
Craig Jack Anderson, of Albert Terrace, Ramsey, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of cannabis to the island, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, resisting arrest, and careless driving.
Two other charges of driving without insurance and having no driving licence were withdrawn by the prosecution.
Anderson will be sentenced on September 25 after a probation report has been completed. Prosecuting advocate Chrissie Hunt told the court that police intercepted a suspicious parcel at the Post Office’s sorting office on August 12.
It was addressed to Anderson, who is 26, and found to contain 126 grams of cannabis, valued at £2,520.
He was arrested and when his mobile phone was examined it showed evidence regarding the supply of drugs.
On August 19 Anderson was also reported by a member of the public who said they saw him driving on Mooragh Promenade against a one-way system, then driving onto grass and skidding as he turned his Mercedes.
The court heard that he has a previous conviction in relation to the production of cannabis.
Ms Hunt submitted that the case was too serious for summary court and should be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing, with defence advocate Louise Cooil agreeing.
No bail application was made and Anderson was remanded in custody.
