A 30-year-old man was this week jailed for assaulting two police officers.

Ryan Kneen, of Snugborough Avenue, Union Mills, appeared via live link from the prison before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes on Tuesday at Douglas Courthouse.

The court heard that on November 19, 2020, Mr Kneen was arrested at Royal Court in Onchan after assaulting the officers.

Defence advocate David Clegg said that his client had pleaded guilty to both offences at the first opportunity and that it was a spur of the moment reaction to his arrest for a separate matter.

Mrs Hughes sentenced Kneen to 22 weeks in custody for the offences.
