A former Parish Walk winner has admitted spying on a woman as she had sex in her kitchen.

Vincent Lynch, of Head Road, Douglas, was caught peering through the woman’s window and was also said to have watched her on another occasion getting out of her shower.

The 56-year-old will be sentenced on April 23 after a probation report and doctor’s report have been completed.

Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the court how, on December 2, a woman called police to her Douglas home.

She said that a man was staring at her through her kitchen window as she had sex on the kitchen counter.

She said she went outside to the car park and found Lynch, crouched down, looking into her flat.

The woman screamed and said that Lynch then looked as though he was fumbling with the lower half of his body.

Lynch then ran off through the exit to the car park.

The woman said that she recognised Lynch and had seen him several times previously looking into her apartment.

She said that, on one occasion, she got out of the shower and saw Lynch across the road peering in.

The woman went outside to the spot that Lynch was standing, after he had left, and said that she would have been visible from where he was stood. He was interviewed but gave ’no comment’ responses to all questions.

Lynch was then put in an ID parade and was identified by the woman as the man who had been watching her.

Lynch was the joint winner of the 2012 Parish Walk.

In 2014, while at a different address, he was jailed for eight weeks for provoking behaviour after performing a sexual act in view of a neighbour.

At that time Lynch admitted having a problem with voyeurism.Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered that the probation report consider all options including custody.

Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions that Lynch reside at his home address, contact probation, and not leave the island without court permission.
