A man who has admitted possessing 16 indecent images of children is to be sentenced next month.
Joshua James Tweedy also pleaded guilty to provoking behaviour and possessing a knife, outside the Marine Hotel on Peel promenade.
The 24-year-old, who lives in Market Street, Peel, was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing which will take place on September 18.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that, on March 21, Manx police received information from the UK National Crime Agency regarding Tweedy and the viewing of indecent images.
A warrant was executed at his home and a laptop, phone and gaming consoles were seized.
When analysed they were found to contain eight still indecent images and eight moving indecent images of children.
The images were categorised using the Copine Scale which measures the severity of images from one to five with five being the most severe.
Nine images were categorised at level one, two at level two, and five at level four.
Ms Carroon submitted that the case should go to the higher court for sentencing.
Defence advocate David Reynolds agreed and said that his client did not wish to make a bail application.
Deputy High Bailiff Chris Arrowsmith ordered that a probation report be prepared before sentencing.
