A man who caused more than £1,000 worth of damage to a woman’s home during a row with her has been sent to prison.
Jon-Paul Fayle, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to 16 weeks in custody by High Bailiff Jayne Hughes on Tuesday after admitting a charge of damaging property.
The court heard he had already been recalled to prison in relation to a previous sentence for drug trafficking which he was released early from.
The property damage offence occurred on February 10 at an address at The Bretney in Jurby.
Fayle, aged 26, was said to be drunk at the time of the offence.
The woman told police officers that Fayle had ’trashed’ her home.
Fayle caused extensive damage with knife marks on the walls of the house and damaged two televisions.
The total damage caused to the home was estimated at £1,100.
Advocate Stephen Wood said: ’Mr Fayle had started to have a relationship with the complainant.
’He accepts he responded disproportionately but he did remove himself from the house.’
