A man tried to post more than £27,000 in cash related to criminal activity to the UK, a court has heard.
James William Francis Quayle pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to remove criminal property from the Isle of Man to the UK and one of possession of cannabis.
Deputy High Bailiff Chris Arrowsmith declined jurisdiction and committed the 30-year-old to the Court of General Gaol Delivery where he will be sentenced on September 18.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that police intercepted a suspicious package at Anagh Coar post office in Douglas on July 31. It was destined for the UK and sent by Quayle.
When opened it was found to contain £12,010 in cash.
On August 4 a second similar package was received at the same post office, this time containing £15,290.
Quayle, of Auldyn Meadow Drive, Ramsey, was arrested and a search of his home found 1.1 grams of cannabis, worth £22.
Defence advocate Stephen Wood made a bail application for his client, which was opposed by the prosecution, saying that Quayle had recently acquired a business, employing four people full-time and one part-time and that he was not a flight risk.
However, Deputy High Bailiff Mr Arrowsmith refused bail on the grounds that Quayle may commit further offences if released.
He is remanded in custody.
