A 45-year-old man has admitted possessing heroin and cannabis.
Mark Roberts, of Close ny Mooragh, Ramsey, will be sentenced on October 22 after a probation report has been completed.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that Roberts was spoken to by police at Sumark Avenue in Douglas on September 13.
A Kinder egg was found which contained cannabis and when police searched his home they found more of the drug as well as heroin.
The total find was 1.4 grams of heroin worth between £175 and £350, depending on its purity, and 5.9 grams of cannabis, valued at £62.
When interviewed Roberts admitted all the drugs were his.
Ms Carroon submitted that the case was suitable for sentencing in summary court.
The court heard that Roberts is also due to be sentenced for other offences of heroin and cannabis possession, which he had previously admitted.
Advocate Peter Taylor said that his client had ’fallen into despair after a bereavement over the last few months’.
’He accepts this is a wake-up call,’ said the advocate.
Mr Taylor said that Roberts was in danger of losing his accommodation if he was remanded in custody.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with conditions that he reside at his home address, contact probation, and not leave the island without consent of the court.
