A fisherman has been fined £500 for possessing cocaine.
Daniel Justin Kepple Woodbridge, aged 26, of Larivane Meadows, Andreas, admitted having £50-worth of the drug and was also ordered to pay £125 costs.
The court heard that he was acquitted of another allegation after the charge was dismissed.
Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court that police found the cocaine during a search of Woodbridge’s home on April 27 at 12.55am.
He admitted it was cocaine and he had bought it for £50.
Defence advocate Winston Taylor said that his client had been celebrating his sister’s birthday on the night in question.
Mr Taylor said that Woodbridge suffered from anxiety and depression and did not socialise much but had bought the cocaine to help ’ease’ him at the end of the night.
’He has not used drugs since,’ said the advocate.
’He doesn’t like using medication because it affects the way he works.’
