Police who appealed for information today after a car was taken from a driveway in the island have thanked members of the public after the vehicle was later located.

Police said the green Mazda MX5, registration number LMN 395L was stolen from Cooil Drive, Douglas.

It went some time between 11pm last night (Friday) and 7.20am today (Saturday).

Anyone with information was urged to contact PC Stephanie Shaw at police headquarters on 631212.

But later this afternoon police announced on their media page: 'Thank you for your help - the stolen Mazda vehicle has been located.'
