Two men have been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm after an alleged attack using a hammer.

The incident is alleged to have taken place at a flat in Brookhill Road, in Ramsey, on March 7.

David Allan Bonnar, aged 41, of Mooragh Promenade, Ramsey, pleaded not guilty to common assault, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest.

He entered a ’no plea’ response to intimidating a witness and is yet to enter a plea to the GBH charge which must be heard at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

Caleb John Langton (aka McBurnie), aged 23, of North Shore Road, Ramsey, entered a ’no plea’ response to a charge of affray and is also yet to enter a plea to the GBH charge.

The victim in the alleged incident was said to have suffered six fractured ribs, a fractured clavicle, and cuts and bruises.

Both men were refused bail by High Bailiff Jayne Hughes and will be committed to the higher court on May 12.
