A motorist has been fined £450 for speeding past a school.
Sinead Keane also had her licence endorsed with eight penalty points.
Prosecuting advocate Rachael Braidwood told the court that police were doing speed checks near the arboretum in St John’s on April 19 at 8.10am.
The limit is usually 30mph but between 8.20am and 9.15am it is 20mph due to the school on the road.
She has no previous convictions.
Defence advocate David Reynolds said that his client had not realised the speed limit at the time and that children had gone back to school as it was just after lockdown.
Magistrates also ordered Keane to pay £50 prosecution costs which she will pay, along with the fine, at a rate of £70 per month.
