A 23-year-old Douglas man has been fined £520 for driving without insurance or a licence.
Joshua Rees Douglas Davies, of Mona Street, admitted both offences and also had his licence endorsed with eight penalty points.
Prosecuting advocate Roger Kane told the court that Davies was stopped by police on October 15 while driving an Audi A3 on Farrants Way in Castletown.

He told police: ’I’m not going to lie, I don’t have a driving licence.’
The court heard that he has no previous convictions.
Defence advocate David Clegg said that his client had had ’something of a bad run of luck lately’.
Mr Clegg said that Davies was wearing a leg brace because he had been involved in a motorbike accident, then he was involved in a bus crash, and then he was involved a car crash.
The advocate said of the offences: ’He has no explanation why he chose to drive that day.
’It was not an incident where there was a collision or a poor standard of driving.’
Mr Clegg said that Davies was a carer for his mother and his only source of income was a carer’s allowance.
Magistrates also ordered him to pay £50 prosecution costs which he will pay, along with the fine, at a rate of £50 per month.
