A motorist whose car clipped a parked car has been fined for careless driving.
The accident happened in Hillberry Park, Douglas, in March last year, when Conor Michael Bradley’s car hit the front corner of a Renault Clio parked on double yellow lines.
Bradley, of Buck’s Road, Douglas, initially denied the offence but changed his plea to guilty on the day a trial was due to take place.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the court how, on March 22 at 9pm, a woman parked her Renault Clio at Hillberry Park in Douglas.

When she returned to it in the morning she found that it had suffered impact damage.
White plastic and a number plate had been left at the scene. Police recognised the number plate as belonging to Bradley and he later presented himself at police headquarters, confirming he was involved in the collision.
When interviewed Bradley, aged 26, said he left a note on the car with his details.
Defence advocate Jason Stanley said that the accident had occurred between midnight and 12.30am.
’It was a dark and stormy night. The weather was pretty atrocious,’ said the advocate.
’That undoubtedly had an impact on Mr Bradley’s visibility. He caught the front corner of the car. It was at relatively low speed.’
Mr Stanley said the woman’s car was parked on double yellow lines with the driver’s side to the kerb, making it harder to see.
’The car was parked in a position, Mr Bradley would say, where you wouldn’t really expect there to be a vehicle,’ said Mr Stanley.
’Having collided with the car he stopped. He did put a note on the car. It is likely that it blew off in the stormy weather. He also contacted her on social media via his brother and went to the police station voluntarily.’
Bradley was fined £600 and his licence was endorsed with three penalty points.
He was also ordered to pay £300 prosecution costs.
Charges of failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident were withdrawn.
