Police searched a drug dealer’s house and found snap bags and scales.

Thomas Dale Crozier was caught with £717-worth of cannabis.

The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to possession of the drug with intent to supply and simple possession when he appeared before the Deputy High Bailiff.

Prosecuting advocate Barry Swain told the court that police executed a search warrant at Crozier’s home on Thorny Road, Douglas, on December 2.

He told police he had a small amount of cannabis on him, which turned out to be 1.2 grams valued at £36.

During their search of the property police found two further amounts, of 15.7 grams valued at £471, and 6.8 grams, said to be worth £204, as well as a joint valued at £6.

Snap bags and scales were also found, along with an axe and nunchucks - a weapon used in martial arts - under a bed.

An analysis of Crozier’s phone found evidence of him supplying cannabis.

When interviewed Crozier admitted supplying friends with the drug.

Mr Swain said that a financial investigation was continuing but based on the current facts, the case was suitable for summary court sentencing. However, it would need to go to the Court of General Gaol Delivery under the Proceeds of Crime Act if any confiscation order for money was to be made.

Defence advocate David Reynolds said that his client bought drugs in bulk but had not been before the court for over 10 years.

Crozier will be committed to the higher court on April 29.

Deputy High Bailiff Chris Arrowsmith ordered that a probation report be prepared before sentencing which will consider all options, including custody.

Bail continues in the sum of £500 with a condition to live at his home address.
