A dog owner has been £150 after letting his dog, Samson, foul in a public place.

Nigel William McKeown, aged 43, of Bircham Avenue Close, sent a postal admission to the offence claiming he ran out of bags on the walk.

He was brought to court after failing to pay to pay a fixed penalty notice with a £50 fine despite a reminder being sent.

Prosecuting on behalf of Ramsey Town Commissioners, Jane Gray told the court how, on October 2 at 7.25am, a woman was driving to work on Gladstone Avenue in Ramsey.

She said she saw McKeown’s dog fouling and he then walked off without picking it up. She slowed the car and wound down the window saying: ’I think you better pick that up.’ She said McKeown just said: ’Whatever’ and carried on. McKeown denied making that remark.
