Firefighters were called out to a home in Douglas after reports of a smell of burning.
The 999 call-out to Fairfield Terrace came at just before 7.30pm last night (Tuesday).
Crews from Douglas, Laxey and Castletown fire stations were mobilised.
On arrival, they found an overheated pan had been left on a hob, causing smoke logging throughout the property.
A ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke from the building. Fire crews were in attendance for about 30 minutes.
Station officer Brian Quirk said the incident highlighted the importance of having working smoke alarms in order to provide early detection and allow occupants to safely evacuate premises.
