Police have asked people not to travel as snow causes issues on several island roads.

Posting on social media, the Police said: 'Roads are becoming blocked all over the Isle of Man. Mountain and Ballamodha/Roundtable roads are now shut.

'If stuck in vehicle on high ground don't try and walk down. Let someone know, stay in vehicle and keep heater on.'

The Manx Hockey Association has postponed its early fixtures and will make a decision on this afternoon's games later.

The Murray Lambden athletics meet at the NSC has also been suspended.

In rugby, this afternoon's Manx Cup game between Vagabonds and Ramsey at Ballafletcher has also been called off as has all of the day's schedule football.

FC Isle of Man, however, did make it off island for their latest fixture in the North West Counties League.
