Detectives are investigating a suspected knife attack in Douglas.
Firearms officers were deployed following reports of a serious assault in the area of Kensington Road on Tuesday night.
Police say a man, believed to be in his 20s, received injuries consistent with a knife being used in the attack.
He was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was subsequently discharged.
Officers from the operational support group including firearms officers and dog officers were deployed to assist uniformed officers in the search for two males following the alleged incident.
Two men were arrested and have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman for CID said firearms were deployed for a variety of reasons where there could be a potential risk to the public or officers.
But he said there was no wider risk to the general public.
The spokesman said: ’The suspicion is that a knife was used in the attack. A man received injuries consistent with that.
’During this search an area of Kensington Avenue, Douglas, was closed. There was no risk to the general public and two males were arrested.’
Anyone who was in the area of Rosemount, Kensington Road or Kensington Avenue around 7pm on Tuesday night (November 5) are asked to contact CID at police headquarters on 631301 as soon as possible.
