Police are appealing for the driver of a blue Skoda that hit a traffic island in Union Mills earlier today to get in touch with them.
Posting on social media, the Constabulary said: ’Can the driver of the Skoda that collided with the traffic island outside the Spar shop in Union Mills please make contact with us? We have some parts of your vehicle that might be useful to you.
’Can members of the public please be on the look out for a Skoda that will have front end damage from this incident?
’We believe it’s occurred since 7am this morning.
’Before any comments are written about "grassing", just think.
’A vehicle has collided with a stationary object in the middle of the road, causing significant damage and failed to stop or report it. Thankfully, the collision involved an object, not a person.
’If you can help us with our enquiries to locate the driver, please contact PHQ on 631212. Alternatively if you are the driver, do the right thing and contact us. Thank you.’
