The police have put out an appeal for anyone who witnessed a hit and run in Douglas this afternoon.

The collision occurred at the bottom of Thorny Road/Bray Hill and the driver of a silver BMW has abandoned their car and fled the scene.

It is not known if anyone was injured in the incident.

Police said: ’Did you see anyone running away from this? Please ring us asap.’
