Police are appealing for information after a driver caused a crash in Onchan.

The incident, which police say involved a white Mercedes vehicle, took place near the entrance of the boating lake on Royal Drive around 12.25pm yesterday (Saturday).

A silver Astra owner told police that they had been forced to turn into a parked BMW to avoid colliding with the white Mercedes who was travelling at speed in the opposite direction.

The road had cars parked on either side with room for only one vehicle to pass through.

A police spokesman said: ’We are eager to speak to the owner of a vehicle described as a new looking white Mercedes hatchback which drove away from the scene at speed.

’The driver is described as being a white female in her early twenties with long blonde hair wearing sun glasses.’
