Police officers had to separate two brothers fighting in a Peel street at midnight.

Dominic Mark Parish, of Main Road, Ballaugh, was being pinned down on the floor by his brother in Ramsey Road on December 30.

Police had to step in as Parish, aged 19, had lashed out, constantly swearing and shouting loudly.

Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court police came across the pair, both covered in mud.

Parish was swearing and saying: ’I’ll smash you in the face if you don’t get off me.’

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he refused to answer questions.

Advocate Paul Glover said: ’It was an unfortunate situation. Mr Parish and his brother got into an argument.

’Mr Parish had called his father himself to collect him.

’But unfortunately the situation spilled over from there but there were no injuries or complaints.

’He deeply regrets the situation.’

Parish admitted a charge of drunk and disorderly behaviour and was fined £300.
