Snow and icy conditions have caused difficulties across the island today.

Emergency services have attended to a road traffic collision which occurred on the Whitebridge Road in Onchan this morning.

Earlier, the road there was blocked and impassable - police have since reopened it and gritted the road but ask drivers not to travel unless it is essential.

The Mountain Road is closed until further notice.

Police say numerous other roads across the island have been blocked due to road traffic collisions and are urging people to stay at home and not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
