With the borders closed, the police believe drug dealers are turning to the postal service in an attempt to import narcotics.
A Police spokesman said that officers have ’increased their work at the Post Office to proactively identify these packages’.
He added: ’As a result of this, a number of packages containing controlled drugs have been detected, and a number of arrests made in relation to the production of controlled drugs.
’A robust approach will be taken against any person involved in the importation and supply of controlled drugs to the Island.’
