A 51-year-old man who urinated against a pub wall has been fined £550.

Joseph Langton, of Keppel Road, Willaston, admitted being drunk and incapable as well as threatening behaviour.

Prosecuting advocate Roger Kane told the court that Langton was in Jaks with his brother on September 26 at 11.20pm.

The pair were asked to leave by bouncers and after some persuasion went outside.

However, Langton swore at security staff telling one man: ’I’m going to break your jaw.’

Outside he was then seen urinating against the pub wall in full view of other customers.

Police arrived and arrested the two brothers and when interviewed Joseph Langton said he had limited recollection of the incident but accepted what security staff had said.

Defence advocate Ian Kermode said: ’Mr Langton seldom goes out. Clearly he consumed too much alcohol hence why he doesn’t recall the sequence of events.

’This was just drunken nonsense. There was no physical contact.’

Mr Kermode went on to say that his client had no convictions for 10 years and that he had ’considerably settled down’.

The advocate added that CCTV footage of the incident showed Langton apologising three times for his behaviour.

Magistrates fined him £350 for threatening behaviour and £200 for being durnk and indecent.

He was also ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs and will pay all amounts at a rate of £40 per month.
