This was the scene after a car overturned in Marown, trapping the driver inside.

Braaid Road between the Braaid roundabout and St Mark’s crossroads was closed for a time yesterday evening (Sunday) while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The hatchback had ended up on its side, with the driver trapped inside.

Fire crews, called out at 6.15pm, stabilised the car and then extricated the casualty using hydraulic cutting equipment.

The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics but is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.

Fire crews remained at the scene for a short while to ensure the vehicle was made safe ready for recovery.
