The Douglas to Laxey road has reopened following a serious accident at Fairy Cottage.

Emergency services were called to the scene by the Fairy Cottage filling station at about 9am.

Traffic heading to Laxey was diverted via the Creg-ny-Baa Back Road. Buses were diverted over the Mountain Road.

The coast road reopened shortly before 3pm.
