A 31-year-old woman has been fined £350 after rowing with a bouncer at 1886 bar in Douglas.
Creena Georgina Mason, of Croit ny Glionney, Colby, admitted being drunk and disorderly after a charge of disorderly behaviour on licensed premises was withdrawn.
Prosecuting advocate Roger Kane told the court that police on patrol in Regent Street on August 30 at 11.54pm saw Mason outside 1886 bar arguing with a female bouncer.
She was said to have struck the woman in the face but the bouncer did not want to make a complaint.
After being arrested and interviewed, Mason told police her memory was ’hazy’ but she admitted striking the woman in the face with an open palm to push her away.
Defence advocate Dawn Jones said: ’Ms Mason was outside the bar. She hadn’t been ejected of asked to leave but an incident had occurred outside. There was a push/shove to the face.
’Her recollection is hazy. It was a classic example of somebody with previous good character having too much to drink and doing something stupid.’
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes gave Mason credit for her guilty plea and told her that the allegation could have potentially been more serious if the security officer had made a complaint.
’You may well have been before the court for an assault,’ said Mrs Hughes.
Mason was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs which she must pay, along with the fine, by the end of November.
