A serving police officer has appeared in court again after denying an offence of dangerous driving while he was on duty.

Paul John Robinson, aged 42, from Port Erin, was due to be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on Thursday but defence advocate Jim Travers asked for an adjournment to review committal papers.

The offence is alleged to have been committed while driving a police car at the junction of Ballaquayle Road and Bray Hill on November 27.

Mr Robinson said that he was responding to a situation when the alleged incident occurred.

The case is now due to be committed to the higher court on October 7.

Bail continues in the sum of £500.
