A teenager has admitted breaching a community service order after missing six appointments.
Nathan Owen Briggs, of The Hope, St John’s, still has to complete 170 hours of a 200-hour community service order imposed in July 2018 for affray. The order was imposed as a direct alternative to 16 weeks’ custody. The 19-year-old failed to attend six appointments from September to February.
Defence advocate Ian Kermode said that a more suitable placement had been found for Briggs now at the Hospice warehouse and that he would be starting working there this week.
’He is very grateful for the lengths probation have gone to,’ said the advocate.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said that she would allow the order to continue.
