A teenager has denied grooming and indecently assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Daniel Michael John Oliphant, of Tromode Woods, Braddan, will be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on Tuesday.

Oliphant, aged 19, denied two counts of sexual grooming, relating to two 15-year-old girls, and two counts of indecent assault on a child, both relating to one of the girls.

He is also charged with two counts of gross indecency with a person under 16 and two of procuring a person under 16 to commit gross indecency, offences that can be heard only at the higher court so no plea has been entered yet.

The case was due to be committed on Tuesday but advocate Jim Travers said that he had only recently been appointed and the case involved around 400 pages which needed to be reviewed.
