A teenager has appeared in court again after admitting holding a knife during a row with his mother.

Cameron Reekie has pleaded guilty to provoking behaviour and threatening to damage property.

He was due to be sentenced on Thursday but Deputy High Bailiff Chris Arrowsmith adjourned the case due to a query over a probation report.

The report had said Reekie was unsuitable for community service but Mr Arrowsmith adjourned sentencing until November 5 for this to be clarified.

We previously reported that the incident took place on August 10 at Reekie’s home address in Newtown, Santon, in the kitchen.

His mother had asked him to move some of his property away from the front of their house as the council had given them 10 days to move it.

But the 18-year-old swore and told her: ’Don’t start with me. I’m in a bad mood.’

He then threatened to smash his mother’s iPad and phone before holding up a knife which he had pulled from a block in the kitchen.

His mother told police she felt scared and upset during the incident.

When interviewed later Reekie told police he had never intended to hurt his mother, despite holding up the knife, but accepted she would have been scared.

Bail continues until sentencing in the sum of £500 with a condition to reside at his home address.
