A Douglas teenager has been fined £350 after New Year celebrations got out of hand.
Kirsty Susan Ann Green, of Hillside Avenue, admitted an offence of being drunk and disorderly in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the court police were on patrol in Douglas in the early hours of January 1 and spoke to 19-year-old Green who tried to jump on one officer. She swore at police. Green left the scene but later approached police on Church Street.
She again began swearing at officers and was told to go home. She started walking off but then continued her abuse, swearing again.
She was eventually arrested but continued being aggressive saying: ’I will kill you and so will my mum.’
Defence advocate Matthew Wilshaw said: ’It was New Year’s Eve and she says it was out of character. She has little recollection of the events and was shocked when I read the police summary to her. She is truly remorseful for wasting police time on a busy night.’
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said while passing sentence: ’Your behaviour towards the police was nothing less than appalling.’
