Two teenagers have been convicted of drug-related offences.

Jamie Gelling, aged 17, of Foxdale Road, Eairy, admitted possession of class C drug Xanax and possessing criminal property, namely £4,000 in cash.

Harry Robert Warrillier-Grant, aged 19, of Western Avenue, Douglas, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

Gelling was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery where he is due to be sentenced for other drug-related matters.

Warrillier-Grant will be sentenced on December 4.

Prosecutor James Robinson told the court how, on August 17 at 6.25pm, police spoke to the two teens who were in a Ford Fiesta at Spar car park in Anagh Coar.

Gelling was found in possession of a white powder and sock containing bank notes.

He told police: ’I’m so tired of this. If I thought I had a chance of a better life do you think I would be doing this?’

A search of Gelling’s home found nine and a half Xanax tablets worth £19.

Gelling said that the white powder was protein supplement creatine and this was later confirmed by police testing.

Regarding the cash, Gelling said he had been asked to deliver it and was paid £40 but would not say who else was involved.

In police interview he said: ’Do you think I want someone to come into my girlfriend’s house kicking off?’

Warrillier-Grant’s home was also searched and police found 10 blocks of cannabis valued at a total of £447.

He said he was given the cannabis by Gelling and was just storing it at his house as a favour in case the police stopped them while they were driving.

A basis of plea was entered for Warrillier-Grant in which he said he was not intending to deal or supply cannabis in any way and was only storing the drugs for Gelling.

Gelling will appear at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on October 12.

Both teenagers were granted bail in the sum of £500.
