A teenager has admitted nine offences committed during a two-and-a-half-month crime spree.

Rosemary Burgess pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer, breaching a licensing ban, being drunk and disorderly, two counts of property damage, two of possession of class ’B’ drugs, and two of possessing class ’C’ drugs.

A charge of robbery was withdrawn.

The case was adjourned to allow time for the preparation of a probation report.

The court heard that Burgess, who is 19, was arrested on July 1 and found to be in possession of class ’B’ drugs phenobarbital and butobarbital.

On August 16 she was arrested after an incident outside the Marine pub in Peel when a man’s phone was taken and smashed.

She was charged with property damage and assaulting a police officer.

On August 29 Burgess was arrested again, this time for being drunk and disorderly and breaching a licensing ban.

The teenager, who lives in Hutchinson Square in Douglas, was arrested again on September 13 after damaging two window panes and being found in possession of class ’C’ drugs tramadol and temazepam.

Prosecuting advocate James Robinson submitted that the offences were suitable for summary court sentencing.

Defence advocate Paul Rodgers asked for a probation report to be prepared before sentencing.

Magistrates accepted summary court jurisdiction and Burgess will be sentenced on November 11.

Bail continues with a condition to contact probation.
