Three people have appeared in court via video link from the prison facing charges after 300 grams of cocaine was smuggled into the island in car on the ferry.

Dani Leigh Sharp, aged 24, of Bryon Close, in Chester, has previously denied production of cocaine to the island and possession with intent to supply the drug.

Dominique Carline, aged 23, of Norris Road, in Chester, is charged with the same two offences but is yet to enter pleas.

Daniel James Patterson, aged 29, of Northfield Road, in Bootle, has previously entered a ’no plea’ response to the charge of production of cocaine to the island.

Committal

Mr Patterson and Ms Carline are due for committal to the Court of General Gaol Delivery on December 17.

They have made no bail applications.

Ms Sharp made a second bail application on Tuesday after her advocate Louise Cooil said that a place at Tromode House bail hostel had been found for her.

However, High Bailiff Jayne Hughes again refused to grant bail on Tuesday, despite Ms Sharp’s grandmother’s continued offer of providing a £10,000 surety.

She is also due to be committed to the higher court on December 17.
