Three men and a female in their late teens and twenties were arrested in connection to an alleged stabbing in Peel, police confirmed.

The 20-year-old victim, who has not been named, sustained injuries consistent with him having been stabbed.

His injuries were not life-threatening and he was treated at the scene around Castle Street before being taken to Noble’s Hospital, Douglas, where he was later discharged that same night.

Police said they received a call just before 7pm yesterday (Friday) stating that a man had been stabbed at an address near Castle Street.

Those suspected of being involved in the incident had left the scene prior to police arriving at the scene.

Armed officers were deployed to locate and arrest them in the Peel area.

The three local men in their late teens and early twenties together with a local teenage female, all of whom know each other, were arrested on suspicion of their involvement in this matter.

The three men are currently detained at Douglas Police Headquarters, while enquires continue this morning by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department.

The teenage woman has been bailed pending further enquiries into her suspected involvement.

A police spokesman said: ’Although this matter relates to an alleged stabbing incident, which required the deployment of armed officers in order to safely locate and arrest those suspected of having been involved, Inspector Neil Craig has confirmed that owing to the specific and contained nature of the offence, at no time were members of the wider public deemed to have been in any danger or at any form of heightened risk.’
