A 24-year-old from Douglas has admitted assaulting a man by punching, kicking and stamping on him.

Connor Lloyd Jackson, of Pulrose Road, appeared in court via video link from the prison and pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm.

He will be sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on July 16.

Jackson was initially charged with causing grievous bodily harm but that was amended to actual bodily harm after a medical report regarding the victim’s injuries was received.

Prosecuting advocate Rachael Braidwood told the court that Jackson assaulted his victim on May 1 in an attack that involved multiple punches, kicks to the head, and stamps.

Ms Braidwood said that the case was too serious for summary court and should be committed to the higher court.

Defence advocate David Clegg agreed that the case was not suitable for the lower court and asked for a probation report to be prepared before sentencing.

Mr Clegg said that medical records in relation to his client were awaited from the UK and a mental health report may also be required.

No bail application was made and Jackson is remanded in custody.
