Donovan Bradley Kitching, aged 36, care of the prison, appeared in court this week via video link from the prison after his trial was postponed.

Mr Kitching has denied assaulting a prison officer and a trial was due to be held on October 29.

However, the court heard that this could not go ahead and a new trial date is set for January 4 in summary court.

No bail application was made and he is remanded in custody.
