Emergency services were this morning (Saturday) dealing with two road traffic collisions on the Ballamodha Straight.

Police said the road surface was ’a little slippery apparently due to ice’ and Department of Infrastructure gritters were on the way.

The two collisions happened on Barrule Road at the top of the Ballamodha Straight (near to the South Barrule / ApeMann junction).

Police suggested motorists avoid the Ballamodha ’for the time being’, and take an alternative route.

The fire and rescue service said: ’A rescue pump from Peel Station is currently assisting other services at an RTC in the South Barrule/Ballamodha area.

’The Met Office has issued a warning of icy patches this morning so please drive to the conditions.’On Sunday, police, ambulance and fire crews from Douglas were called to a single vehicle road collision near Chibbangh plantation on the Braaid Road.Teams worked together to help extricate a single casualty who was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.
