A 45-year-old man has been fined £950 and banned from driving for six months for six motoring offences.
Lee Gerard Cushion pleaded guilty to them all and was also ordered to pay £50 prosecution costs by High Bailiff Jayne Hughes.
They were concerned about the manner of his driving so they followed him until he parked and went into his home at Empire Terrace in Douglas.
When police examined the Jaguar the engine was warm and it had suffered some damage which appeared recent.
Officers called at his home and when questioned, Cushion claimed he had been home all day.
He said the damage to the car was caused ’a couple of weeks ago’ but he had not reported it as he had no licence or insurance.
His tax was found to have expired on February 28 and he held only a provisional licence.
Police initially suspected that he had been drinking but he blew under the limit when a breathalyser test was taken.
Numerous defects were found in the car and it was deemed unroadworthy.
Cushion was officially interviewed on April 27 and then admitted he had been driving the car on the day.
In court, he pleaded guilty to failing to transfer a vehicle licence, careless driving, having no insurance, having a vehicle in a dangerous condition, having no vehicle licence, and having no driving licence.
The court heard that Cushion, who represented himself in court, had five points previously on his licence, imposed in April 2018.
High Bailiff Mrs Hughes gave him credit for his guilty plea and admissions in police interview, and ordered him to pay the fine and costs at a rate of £20 per week.
