Work on planting out new trees at Ballaugh plantation has had come to a halt - after this digger was vandalised.
A stone was thrown through the cab window of the excavator.
Police are investigating the criminal damage which was carried out some time between Thursday March 29 and Tuesday last week.
The vandalism caused work to come to a halt, causing significant inconvenience and expense to the digger operator, said a Constabulary spokesman.
Officers from the Northern neighbourhood policing team want to trace the individual responsible and have appealed for witnesses.
Work being carried out at Ballaugh plantation involves preparing the ground for new planting, replacing the cleared larch with Douglas fir, Sitka spruce and other hardwoods.
The aim is create new and more diverse habitats for wildlife.
