A visiting motorcyclist has died in a collision on the Sloc Road, Rushen.

Police have confirmed that a 23-year-old man from West Yorkshire died at the scene of an accident involving three motorbikes.

The collision took place just before 10.30am today (Thursday).

The other two riders involved, who both live off-island, were taken to Noble’s Hospital shortly after the collision.

One has since been flown to the UK with serious injuries.

The name of the rider who died has not yet been formally released.

A section of the Sloc, between the Ballakilpheric junction and the Round Table was closed for five and a half hours after the crash in order to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the collision, and who has not yet spoken to officers, to contact them at police headquarters on 631212.
