A 43-year-old woman who punched a window and smashed it has been fined £200 for property damage.
Prosecuting advocate James Robinson told the court that Dotsey-Thompson was at a property in Tramman Park on July 22 at 4.55am.
The male tenant at the property said that Dotsey-Thompson was at his home earlier in the evening but he had asked her to leave after a disagreement.
He said she then started banging on the front door but he ignored her.
After 10 minutes he said it went quiet but he then heard a knocking on the window followed by the smashing of glass.
Dotsey-Thompson was still outside shouting that she wanted her phone back.
The man said he gave her the phone through the window.
She was later arrested and admitted that she had punched the window causing an estimated £250 worth of damage by breaking the outer panel of a double-glazed living room window.
A probation report said that Dotsey-Thompson said she had been drinking at the man’s home with another female.
She claimed that the man had hit her causing her to lose a tooth.
The report said that she had suffered anxiety and depression at times and was not suitable for community service due to mental health issues.
The report recommended a fine as the most appropriate sentence.
Defence advocate Paul Rodgers said that his client had a history of problems but was now hoping to study a psychology course.
’There was an issue with the man, but she has elected not to pursue a complaint,’ said the advocate.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also ordered Dotsey-Thompson to pay £125 prosecution costs.
She will pay all amounts at a rate of £10 per week deducted from benefits.
