A charity is hoping to raise money with a calendar featuring pictures by local photographers.

Manx Blind Welfare Society’s 2019 calendar features 12 photographs of the Isle of Man.

People were invited to send in shots with the theme Seeing the Island Differently.

The photos showcase Mann from an interesting viewpoint or locations with which some people may not be familiar.

Manx Blind Welfare Society volunteers’ coordinator and events organiser Debbie Thomson said: ’Each page of the calendar is a pleasure to look at and we’re delighted with how its turned out. It’s an ideal festive gift for off-Island family and friends for the new year and a great way to showcase the spectacular Isle that we live on.

’There has been a lot of interest already which is fantastic but we still have plenty ready to go to a good home. It would be great if we can sell even more ahead of the new year.

’We’re very grateful to Ethe 12 local businesses that sponsored the calendar, meaning all proceeds can go towards the vital work that we carry out in the island - supporting the interests of and providing free services to around 500 blind and visually impaired people in the community.’

The calendar is available for £6 and can be collected from Corrin Court in Onchan, the VIP Manx Blind Welfare shop in Strand Street, Douglas, Patricia Wild Opticians and Gillian Sheard Opticians. Alternatively call 674727 or email [email protected].
