A celebrated blues guitarist who has learned from the old masters, lived the music, survived the life and carries the tradition is to perform in Douglas next weekend.
American acoustic solo performer Doug MacLeod is to appear at Douglas Golf Club on Saturday, October 26, from 7pm.
Doug is a highly acclaimed international artist, with more than 50 years’ experience of playing, recording and song-writing behind him.
He plays finger-picking guitar in the classic blues style, and writes and sings original songs based on his own life and experiences.
He remains a prolific creative force, and after releasing his last album, 2017’s ’Break The Chain’, which won many plaudits and industry awards, including the Blues Music awards for best acoustic album of 2018 and the 2017 award for acoustic artist of the year, he is currently recording his latest album.
The award-winning singer, who last appeared in the island in 2015 at the Big Wheel Blues Festival, is the latest guest performer for the Isle of Man Blues Club, and follows a long line of top international musicians who have appeared on the island during 2019, including Max De Bernardi and Veronica Sbergia, who appeared in June, earlier in the year, and Brooks Williams and Rab Noakes, who played in Laxey last month.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £18, including a buffet, available from etickets.im/bwb.
